Part 3. About The New Media Game History
How to Turn Friends into Fans and Customers
Everyone knows the game is changing, so why do they keep acting the same? This project is Part 3 in my Internet business trilogy since 1998, and comes at a time when few are willing to answer, in terms of dollars and cents, what the impact of social media and mobile media are having on the traditional Internet game.
For the next year, this blog will explore what roles the New Media play, cover case studies, and provide video updates on what you must do...more than just another book or training system, my Projects focus on real results and have become the cornerstone of many businesses through "learning by doing" instead of more theoretical facts.
I hope it helps some of you as much as my previous 2 Projects helped, and I look forward to what you like and don't like.
After all, to paraphrase R. Buckminster Fuller, there's no right and wrong, only right and left.
Part 2: 2001-2004 The Internet Hype Crashes
and the Real Internet Game Begins

Back in 2000, the Game began changing, and everyone was afraid. All the Dot Com wannabees left the business and called it hype. People thought Alta Vista was the answer to search engines. That was when performance marketing took off and my agency tripled its revenue, while everyone was saying the Internet was a fad.
Fact is, the best companies rose from this time, just like they are rising now...not in months, but over years of building a real business. Ask Google, that little startup that took over search.
Now we have Twitter and Facebook competing, and my guess is we still haven't figured out the Game. Yet this Internet Game business system helped pave the way for many successful businesses, including my own, and was invited into corporate America, universities, and most important, small businesses who recognize a fellow entrepreneur.
Part 1: 1998 The Beginning -- In a Growing Market, Partnerships are the Name of the Game...
The Affiliate Game
Back in 1998, it was mostly a bit of email, a little luck in search, yet most importantly partnerships. Funny how partnerships continue to be the cornerstone of most businesses even today. Even the Six Degrees of separation -- stating you are just 6 degrees separate from every customer you want to reach -- applies in the world of Super Affiliates, who then and now control the access to your customers.
Who are the Super Affiliates? People who have earned the love and trust of your customers. This Affiliate Game Series became the bible of the industry and was used as a training vehicle for my new Internet agency built on performance marketing. And by the way, it was promoted through the 5 top people in the industry at the time, and reached almost everyone within a 33 month period...why? Because the Super Affiliates are almost always right.
