Seek the counsel of those who will tell you the truth about yourself, even if it is uncomfortable to hear it. Mere commendations will not result in the improvement needed to reach excellence.

In practice:

1. Support of friends and family are important.
2. Equally as important, and needed less often, is objective, caring feedback from those willing to share and care about you. Often our team wants to support and encourage each other in the dental office, and having a voice in your tool box, who will observe and voice observations, is invaluable.

Educating, serving, and doing so swiftly is often the best service to patients. If we pause, there are very few clinical instances, where a patient will be "better served" with less pain, less cost, less inconvenience, if they wait on their treatment.
