Team Huddle Motivation for the Week

"Ordinary things done consistently produce extraordinary results." Keith Cunningham

Now is the time to focus internally. Get back to basics. Nothing is more powerful than simply letting our patients know that we love having them in our practice and respect them enough to ask them to send more people just like themselves. Make a commitment each day at the morning huddle! Look at the schedule. Who is going to ask who for a referral today!

Team Huddle Motivation for the Week

"Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you cannot grow."
Ronald Osborn

As Jim Collins says in Good to Great, "Good is the enemy of Great!" You have a good practice, you are a good leader, a good team member. What step can you take this week to grow towards GREAT!

Remember...a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.

Here's to being Great!

Team Huddle Motivation for the Week

"It is our choices, not our conditions, which determine our business strength and financial independence."

We create our own tone and reality within our own practice. Your team will follow the leadership you choose to create, the expectations you aspire toward. External forces may shade your practice in temporary periods, but your practice is not the flag blowing in the wind of economic, or business climate.

Here's to creating and leading!

Team Huddle Motivation for the Week

"Doing what needs to be done may not make you happy, but it will make you great."

In practice: Part of the responsibility of being an owner of a business, a parent, or a care giver, is to do the things in life which need to be done.

Here's to doing what needs to be done!

Team Huddle Motivation for the Week

"Everything you want in your life rests beyond your comfort zone. If it were comfortable, you would already have it."

In practice: Most of us reach to the end of our comfort zone, to try and grasp the things we want to add to our lives. Whether it is managing the team, refining the practice, or growth needed in the practice. All require us to stretch beyond our current comfort zone.

So, welcome the stretch!

Your Team Huddle for February 17

"One of the greatest theories known to man is the theory of compounding..." Albert Einstein

In practice: the theory of compounding which most positively impacts your practice life: compounding you and your team's experience and education through time.

Like compounding interest, the appreciation of your team's value shall increase over time. Impacts upon your financial life: start saving as early as possible in your career, and allow the theory of compounding interest to work and grow in your favor. When you wait a year, you lose the last year of your compounding accumulation, not the amount you postponed in saving...

So, start compounding now!

Your motivational team huddle for February 23rd

mdcteamhuddle1.jpg

"Most of us will not move until the discomfort of our current position is greater than the discomfort of change."

In practice: Welcome the shift, the stretch, the reach beyond your comfort. Too often we focus on being comfortable, rather than being our best. Strive toward your best; your patients, your family and all those around you deserve your very best.

So, start stretching and growing!

Want a better answer? MyDentalChannel Team Huddle March 9

mdcteamhuddle1.jpgmdcteamhuddle1.jpg

"If you want a better answer, ask a better question."

In practice: Take a moment before asking, to be clear in what you are asking of someone else. If they do not give you the answer you seek, pause, regroup, and refine your question to be a better question. Take responsibility for your questions, being partly responsible for influencing the quality of any answer you receive.

So, ask better questions!

Get feedback, Seek the truth (Dental Team Huddle)

mdcteamhuddle2.jpg

"Seek the counsel of people who will tell you the truth about yourself. Mere commendation will not bring the improvement you seek or need."

In practice: Encourage and welcome constructive criticism from trusted sources. Most of us do not have a good mirror reflection of the areas we can improve upon. Have others in your life who are better than you in the things you want to improve upon.

So, start seeking counsel!

Two ways to increase profits...

mdcteamhuddle1.jpg"While there are two simple ways to increase profit--increase revenue or decrease expenses--there are millions of ways to complicate it..."

In practice: Focus on the areas in your practice which have the most dramatic influence upon collection or expenses first. Remember, any areas where you can improve expenses converts 100% to reaching your bottom line profit. Collections, still have a "cost to deliver," thus a $20K reduction in expenses is far more valuable than a $20K increase in collections.

So, focus on improving your expenses!

As a leader...

mdcteamhuddle2.jpg"As a leader, it is important to clearly understand and communicate the difference between abdicating vs. delegating."

In practice: To those to whom you delegate, set the person up for success, not confusion. Clearly state the desired outcome, the time, the budget, and the tone of the project. Giving the responsibility of the project, without creating the boundaries, makes it confusing for both parties, and lowers the likelihood of satisfaction by both parties.

So, clearly state your expectations!

Your inspiration for Monday, March 2nd

mdcteamhuddle2.jpg

MyDentalChannel Monday Team Huddle

Definition of Insanity: "Doing the same thing over and over and over again, expecting a different result."

In practice: If you want a different outcome, you must use a different strategy than you have exercised in the past. Look for new strategies, ask others for their input. Ask yourself, if my best friend had this challenge, what would I encourage them to do?

So, start using a different strategy!

Team Huddle #7 Motivation for the Week - Trying and Improving Results

mdcteamhuddle2.jpg

"Trying" to do something is an honorable justification for failing.
Download your copy to print out here.

In practice:

  1. "Trying" is the way the psyche justifies not accomplishing the goals you set for yourself.

  2. Be truthful with yourself, self- assess, and

  3. redirect your actions if you didn't succeed.

Team Huddle--Seek the counsel of others

team2_200.jpgSeek the counsel of those who will tell you the truth about yourself, even if it is uncomfortable to hear it. Mere commendations will not result in the improvement needed to reach excellence.

In practice:

  1. Support of friends and family are important.
  2. Equally as important, and needed less often, is objective, caring feedback from those willing to share and care about you. Often our team wants to support and encourage each other in the dental office, and having a voice in your tool box, who will observe and voice observations, is invaluable.

Reframe your thinking--Team Huddle

thinking200.jpgReframe your thinking from "sales" to "education" or "service". Your psyche, your team and your patients will thank you for it.

In practice:

Most of us think a case presentation or a financial arrangement is a "sale". For many doctors, sales maybe a sour tasting word.

Really it is an opportunity to educate and serve the patients needs. It is exciting to help others, teach and educate others, and serve them in their path of life.

Team Huddle--there is rarely a time in the future...

future1_200.jpgThere is rarely a time in the future, when treating your patients will cost less, or be less painful.

Educating, serving, and doing so swiftly is often the best service to patients. If we pause, there are very few clinical instances, where a patient will be "better served" with less pain, less cost, less inconvenience, if they wait on their treatment.

Increase Growth 10-25% with Team Huddles

Subject: Increase Growth 10-25% with Team Huddles
Judy Kay Mausolf

MyDentalChannel Expert: Judy Kay Mausolf of Practice Solutions Inc.

Team Huddles and team meetings can help grow your practice, so why do so many miss the power of these simple steps? In this interview we explore:

  • Practices that focused on Team Huddles and regular meetings grow; those that don't, stagnate.
  • The 3 Points to a Powerful Meeting
  • How to avoid the "data dump" and focus on how it applies to your practice, who does what.
  • Make sure you follow up a meeting with specific steps to be accountable and grow your Practice.
  • How to create a safe environment encouraging the exchange of ideas..

What You Will Learn

Virtually every dental practice knows they should hold regular meetings and Team Huddles, create a safe environment for people to grow and share ideas, and follow up on these meetings to insure results.

So why do most dentists still focus on the technical aspects, rather than the people who will help increase growth? Judy Kay Mausolf's experience will show you why your meetings could be the foundation of your success if you simply realized the value of the Team in your dental practice.

With over 20 years in the industry, Judy Kay Mausolf’s speaking and performance coaching focuses on communication, leadership, team revitalization and image enhancement.  Known as The Potentiality Expert, her ability to inspire and empower helps others connect to their potential and discover what is in the way of their success.  Service and results-driven, Judy Kay offers winning systems and vital information through interaction and real life examples that anchor firmly in the minds and attitudes of attendees.  She is a member of the National Speakers Association (National and Minnesota Chapter), Speaking Consulting Network and an Advanced Transformational TrainerTM.  She is a contributing author for Dental Economics and the Observer and publishes a monthly newsletter entitled “Show Your Shine”.

Make a commitment each day at the morning huddle! Look at the schedule. Who is going to ask who for a referral today!

2 ways to increase profits in your dental practice

mdcteamhuddle1.jpg"While there are two simple ways to increase profit--increase revenue or decrease expenses--there are millions of ways to complicate it..."

"Trying" to do something is an honorable justification for failing."

    In practice:

"Trying" is the way the psyche justifies not accomplishing the goals you set for yourself.

Be truthful with yourself, self-assess, and redirect your
    actions if you didn't succeed.

“Behold the turtle. He makes progress only
when he sticks his neck out.”

    James Bryant Conant

    In practice:

Our nature is to find a rhythm. We crave routine. That, my friends, is the kiss of death! Research confirms thatcking ones’ “veritable neck” out is the key to realizing goals that we never imagined.
