The Mentored By Mary Foundation offers information about mentorship, business and life skills to help MK consultants grow in their MK career opportunity. Donations are recieved and passed on to the Mary Kay Ash Foundation and to other organizations which strengthen a woman in developing personal and professional skills. The Mentored By Mary Foundation presents events (online, tele-conferences and live events) that feature leaders from within Mary Kay sales force and leadership. We also offer information from others outside of the Mary Kay community but who have demonstrated respect and alignment with the Mary Kay philosophies of life and business.

The main focus of the Mentored By Mary Foundation is providing women with access to information that will compliment the training they currently receive from their MK Directors. Our intent is to compliment and support, not compete with MK Inc. or sales force leadership.

The Mentored By Mary Foundation is activly exploring ways to raise funds for three primary purposes: 1) support Mary Kay Ash Foundation, 2) offer personal and professional training opportunities to women who might not otherwise be able to access them, 3) support nonprofit organizations which help women.

Mentorship is the core of Mary Kay Ash's legacy. For me it is what drew me into the company. I have been so blessed by the experiences I have had just being in the community of MK consultants and the awesome leadership of Directors and NSDs.

Because of what I have recieved (and continue to receive) I decided to create a nonprofit foundation to celebrate the legacy of mentorship. Using tools from both private business and the nonprofit sector I combined my interests to create a foundation for the sole purpose of serving MK consultants. I was repeatedly impressed and touched by the stories I would hear from leaders in the company. I also have been deeply moved by the stories of women who have not reached career leadership, but have life leadership skills they are sharing with sister consultants.

I wanted to capture these beautiful stories to honor them and to pass them on to others who will certainly benefit by reading or hearing about them.

Through this process we can create pages that will encourage, inspire and educate for years to come.

The Mentored By Mary Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), 509(a)(1) under the National Heritage Foundation and was established in October 2005. The foundation is independent of Mary Kay, Inc. It was started by a very appreciative MK consultant who wanted to honor all the women who had knowingly and unknowingly mentored her during an incredibly difficult period in her life. With previous experince working in the nonprofit sector as an advocate and community educator, setting up an educational foundation was one of the best ways to say thanks and to pass-it-on.

The foundation offers information about mentorship, business and life skills to help MK consultants grow in their MK career opportunity.
Almost Seminar Summer 06
Presented by the Mentored By Mary Foundation
“Almost There”, a virtual event in honor of the MK Seminar to help those of us who had to miss the real thing. We can learn from the shared stories from our sisters who are attending; so we can still grow in our business skills and our personal development.

It won't be the same as going to the real seminar in Dallas, that's for sure. Then again what can compare with the excitement and sensation of being there in Dallas? Surrounded by thousands of other women who are there to to celebrate the previous year it is a place where the seeds of dreams are planted and nurtured.

I've attended three times and loved being there. This year I was not going to be able to attend. It occured to me that there are lots of other consultants who have to miss this year too. I thought it would be fun to have a virtual event for those of us who have to miss the 'real thing' this year.

I wanted to create a way for us to connect with each other in a way that would help us keep learning, growing and celebrating our experience as MK consultants.

It occured to me that I could use the tools of communication that are available to us 24/7 to create the format to allow us to enjoy a little bit of that seminar expererience...or in this case the Almost Seminar experience.

I am going to contact some more MK consultants who are attending the real seminar to ask them to share their experiences with us by way of this blog. We will be able to have audio links to hear their voices and enjoy catching their excitement as they share their adventures at seminar.

Check out the blog during the two weeks of seminar and see it expand as our sister consultants generously give us the view from inside the seminar.

I know it won't be the same but I hope it will be an exciting place to allow your own dreams of success to be nurtured and maybe even challenged!

My hope is that one of the stories you read or hear will be the spark that lights your way to your next level of success and propels you through this next seminar year until you make it to Dallas next summer!

I want to thank all of the people who were kind enough to take a few moments to share their thoughts and reflections on their seminar experience. In the middle of their busy seminar schedule they offered us that beautiful go give spirit to send encouragement to their sisters back home. Thanks a million!!
