Sprouts are just that, they are an amazing food in so many ways. They contain a ton of protein - twice the protein as spinach and 4 times the protein of lettuce! Sprouts are loaded with minerals, vitamins and enzymes - and all of these are necessary for our bodies to perform optimally. And how about this? Not only do these little powerhouses provide us with the all of these nutrients, as living plants they provide the secret cell factors and phyto-chemicals that enrich our health and longevity! They are super easy to digest and our bodies assimilate them very quickly.
Sprouts are very inexpensive, for the small investment you can purchase everything necessary to cultivate HUNDREDS OF POUNDS of food! They literally cost only pennies per pound and they are always fresh, not like those lifeless greens at the supermarket. There's never any fear of pesticides, fungicides and the like. They are super delicious and a beautiful addition to any kitchen space.
Your kids will also love to get involved with the soaking and rinsing process. Then, when they start to grow, watch as your children jump up and down with excitement. I'm not kidding (no pun intended), this is so satisfying for children. Unlike traditional gardening, they (and you!) will see the fruits of their labor in a matter of 4 to 5 days! It's almost instant gratification!! I don't care how green or brown your thumb is, anyone (and I mean ANYONE) can grow sprouts.
