Celebrating Your Power: Your Multisensory, Intuitive Gifts

For years, I have been speaking to young, graduating physicians about the need to heal the soul as well as the body. It is essential that we recognize that we are both soul and body; healing one without the other will not work. This, until relatively recently, has been difficult for many doctors to accept. Traditionally, doctors have a hard time dealing with what they can’t see, touch or feel. The soul is real but to heal the soul, you must come from the heart as well as the head. Physicians tend to feel much more comfortable at the head or cognitive level and, therefore, may fear trusting what they know or “get” at the heart level. But this is where they need to go if they are to heal both the body and the soul. Shamans and healers have long known this. Now, it is your turn to connect with the healer within you.

My research has validated that we are much more than physical beings with only five senses. We are multisensory beings born with intuitive wisdom which allows us to connect with All there is and to know All that we need to know for well-being. This allows us to connect with our divine heritage. When physicians and therapists combine their highly sophisticated training with their intuitive wisdom, they have the ability to truly heal their patients – and themselves. But, here is what is important: you have the same intuitive ability, and you can learn to care lovingly for yourself by listening to your intuitive wisdom. Now, that is power!

Finding My Path

Born into a family of healers, it is not a surprise that I would be interested in helping others to heal. My father, uncles, brothers, aunt and daughter have been or presently are physicians and my husband is an orthodontist. However, I know that my perspective on healing is different. The truth is that my mother, who was not a physician, plays a role in who and what I am. Mom was an extraordinarily loving and beautiful soul who knew how to heal the heart, mind, spirit and even body with her intuitive wisdom, compassion and love. In fact, she understood the healing properties of the power of love and gratitude and practiced mind-body medicine long before it became popular. Adored and respected by those who knew her, she was a true healer of the soul.

Sense of Empowerment

As a Pennsylvania licensed psychologist who specializes in cancer, life-threatening illness, death, dying, grief, trauma and life after life for almost twenty years, I have always wished to comfort those with whom I work. As these stories were being shared with me, I wanted to not only comfort my patients, but also to normalize their experiences as well. And, so, feeling this sense of being guided, I began my research of various remarkable phenomena which included near-death experiences, energy, meditation and breath, mind and consciousness, prayer, healing, angels and intuitive development. My mentors included people such as Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, Joseph Campbell, Deepok Chopra, Carolyn Myss, Wayne Dyer, Larry Dossey, Joan Borysenko, David Hawkins, and masters who included Jesus and Buddha.

Little did I know that by delving into the research of renowned scientists, physicians, psychologists and psychiatrists (regarding phenomena and areas once deemed to belong only to quantum physicists, mystics, mediums and students of the metaphysical and the paranormal) and combining this with my own study of intuitive development, I would undergo a deep and powerful personal transformation: a transformation of personal power that would forever change the direction of my life. (Whenever we move from darkness and fear into the light and trusting our own wisdom, we are transformed because we realize that we are a part of divine or universal energy. This is true empowerment.)

Furthermore, if I could be transformed by the process, I felt sure that others could be also. In other words, if I could take back my power and learn the art of manifesting my own dreams, then others could do the same. Wouldn’t this be something you would want to be able to do? Healing is about taking back the power we have lost along the path of life; it is about regaining a sense of empowerment and well-being and it is about feeling joy and peace. It is also about feeling good. Isn’t that what we all want for ourselves and our loved ones?
