Family of Toby HARMAN

Provenance researchers of 2 Libraries in Berlin (Zentral-und Landesbibliothek Berlin and the Centrum Judaicum) have conducted investigations in order to identify looted objects (mainly books) that ended up on various ways in their inventories. Amongst others they have found objects once belonged to the Family of Alfred, Marga, Erich and Ilse Hartbrodt.

The Centrum Judaicim has found a family album and the other library a book in their inventories. The tragic fate of the Hartbrodt family (persecuted and murdered by the Nazis or forced to leave Germany) is currently (2013) being presented in a very impressing, remarkable and excellent exhibition in the Centrum Judaicum. The following is a picture of the presentation-board of the Hartbrodt-case in this exhibition.

It was this deeply touching tory and the personal family album (prepared for their little daughter Ilse, born in 1926) which sparked this search in order to help to solve the case and to bring back the very personal belongings to the rightful owners/heirs of the HARTBRODT family

We are searching NO LONGER for the family of Eric HARTBRODT born July 1924 in Berlin
He had managed to flee Nazi germany and in England married Kathleen CLARK
