PAUL-THEODOR LOWENBERG or PAULS LEVENBERGS

Paul LOWENBERG is the person wearing a beret in the picture above
It is a single frame from the film taken by the Russian Army Photographer
when they liberated Auschwitz on 23 January 1945
What happened to Paul LOWENBERG after that? - can you help us in any way?
Do you know anyone we can ask?

The following is all we know of him:

Paul was born on the 20th January 1922 in Halle/Saale, Germany.
He emigrated to Riga (Latvia) in 1939 to work on a local farm as part of his
'Hachsharah' training for a life as a farmer in Palestine.

Did he ever get to Israel?
His last known address in 1941 was
c/o Ostrovskis, Lacplesa iela 52/54 dr59 Riga, Latvia:

We believe that Paul was deported to Auschwitz by the Nazis when the Germans invaded the Soviet Union.
There is a possibility that Paul may have gone to Moscow after being liberated from Auschwitz
His father DAVID LOWENBERG, had gone to Moscow from Berlin as a Latvian Citizen in 1941.
The father held the German title of 'Diplom-Ingineur' and had been offered a job to
head a Machine Tool Factory in Moscow.
