We are NO LONGER searching for  

Heinz and Sonja ZYMT who were twins who were sent to Auschwitz on 2 March 1943.

The mother was called Dayche - but used the name Stanislawa.
She was a Pole from Warsaw, Poland, who had found work in a cigarette factory in Dresden, Germany. When she lost that position she obtained some work as a waitress, but Nazi Laws ensured that she soon lost that job as well.

In the weeks before deportation the mother desperately searched for a secure fostering home for the twins - we still have oral evidence of this. For a while she had succeeded in placing one of the twins. When it became more dangerous for Germans to harbour a Jewsh child, the fostering parents returned the child to the mother.

The information about the Transport dated 2 Mar 1943 is accurate because that was the time when the whole "Judenlager Hellerberg" was cleared.
293 people were shipped direct to Auschwitz on that day. It arrived inb Auschwitz on 3 March 1943.

Even though a book about this transport exists, we have no transport number for it.
There are only prisoner numbers.
The book is by Robert M.W. Kempner: "Die Ermordung von 35 000 Berliner Juden. [in:] Gegenwart im Rueckblick. Festgabe fuer die Juedische Gemeinde zu Berlin 25 Jahre nach dem Neubeginn". Published bei Heidelberg in 1970.

To this particular Transport were later added in the town Gorlitz further Deportees from Berlin and Norway. Gorlitz is the German border town where the rails cross into Poland.

Of the 293 Dresden Deportees, it appears, only 50 arrived in the Auschwitz barracks.
All the rest were killed immediately upon arrival at the selection platform.

The Prisoner numbers allocated to the Men of this transport were 104890-105424 and 105458-105506

For the women the numbers 36935-37079 and 37080-37243 were allocated.
Each person had one of these numbers tattooed on their forearm.

So far we have not been able to identify which person's name was associated with which number.

We are NOT certain of the spelling of the name ZYMT. It is a transliteration, and therefore cannot be taken as accurate.

At a guess the name could also have been spelled as
ZIMT, ZIMMT, CYMT (Polish), CINNAMON (English) KINAMON (Hebew)

Out of the blue an email arrived this morning - 7 years after posting the first notice - which we add as a form of requiem for the family. The search remains open because we still do not know what happened to the twins!

Hier sind umfangreiche Informationen über den zeitraum 1933-1945 zu finden. Darunter befinden sich auch umfangreiche Informationen über den Transport vom 02.03.1943, sowie das Lager. Der von Ihnen angegebene Transport war der Transport 02.03.1943 ab Paderborn - Hannover - Erfurt – Dresden- Vernichtungslager Auschwitz Birkenau die aus dem Judenlager sind zugestiegen 02. März 1943 abends Güterbahnhof Dresden-Neustadt, (siehe Seite). Da bei den Transporten keine Kinder unter 6 Jahre in den Listen aufgeführt werden sind diese dort auch nicht aufgeführt, und es gibt dadurch in den Zahlen differenzen. Die Zwillinge sind aber mit an sicherheit grenzender Wahrscheinlichkeit mit diesem Transport nach Auschwitz deportiert worden. Der Transport traf zeitgleich mit dem Transport aus Berlin ein, in diesem befanden sich auch die Norweger. Am 02.03.1943 ging ein Sondertransport der Gestapo Dresden nach Theresienstadt. Einzelheiten auch zu den anderen Personen auf meiner Seite. Frau Zymt Dayche * 14.03.1900 Marky wird so auf der Transportliste geführt und ist nach Ankunft am 03.03.1943 direkt von der Rampe in die Gaskammer überstellt worden, da die Kinder Zwillinge waren, sind sie vermutlich dem Arzt Mengele übergeben worden.
